Tom. The person you book is the person on the night.
Prestige Sound & Light is Perth’s premium owner-operated wedding DJ — built around one rule: the person you book is the person behind the booth. The quote, the planning calls and the night itself — all me. MC support, full equipment redundancy and a $20M public liability cert included on every package, from $1,395.
A stint in the Royal Australian Infantry taught me one thing: if it can fail, it will — so build redundancy and rehearse the day. That’s why every booking arrives with a second DJ deck, backup speaker, backup microphone, and a run sheet rehearsed before guests arrive. Perth weddings since 2021 across venues including Araluen Estate, Beaumonde on the Point and Bedford Bowling Club — long enough to know that the wrong song at first dance lingers longer than a great cake.
The wedding work is the day job. Private events — birthdays, milestones, functions at venues like the Bayswater Hotel — keep the run sheet muscle sharp between weddings. Club and bar sets at The Daisy Leederville, The Beaufort and Stories in Northbridge are where the reading-a-room reflex gets built. Late-night crowds don’t hand you the run sheet. You learn to hold a floor from the first drink to last call, or the floor lets you know.
What if you’re sick on the day?
There’s a small network of senior Perth wedding DJs I trust to step in if I’m genuinely unable to work — illness, family emergency, anything outside my control. You’d be briefed before, your run sheet would be in the hands of someone who’s worked weddings at this level, and you’d know who’s standing behind the booth before the day. In years of running this business, it has never happened. The plan exists so it stays that way.

Reliability
Infantry discipline applied to event work. On site 90 minutes early. Soundcheck done before guests arrive. A second of every critical piece within arm's reach. No 'sorry, my mate's filling in' phone calls the morning of.
The right kit, doing the right job
Vows clear from the back row, a wireless mic that won't cut out during speeches, and lighting that goes soft and warm for dinner then full energy by 10pm. A second DJ deck sits cabled behind the booth, so a failed USB never stops the music. Cabling hidden, booth disappears.
Read-the-room
Modern open-format — country, Top 40, throwbacks, house, hip-hop. The crowd leads, music answers. Dancefloors stay full because every track is decided in the moment, not from a playlist I made three weeks ago.
Premium kit, set up clean.
Every event leaves with the same kit: not the cheapest, not the loudest — the right gear, hidden well, sounding considered.
- Professional DJ booth with a second unit cabled and ready — a failed USB never stops the music
- Full-range PA system with subwoofer support — clear at the back row, full on the floor, never painful at the nearest table
- Atmospheric dancefloor lighting — moving heads, wash and effects that build from warm dinner glow to full-energy dancefloor
- Battery uplighting to match your venue's tone
- Wireless handheld microphone — speeches that won't cut out and won't feed back
- Cable management — hidden, taped, safe
- Full equipment redundancy on every event
The next step is simple.
